Est. $120,000-$130,000 Henry Dunay One-of-a-Kind 12.00ctw VVS1-VVS2/D-F Diamond & Solid 18K Yellow Gold Textured Bib Necklace W/Ebony Inserts (Comes W/$120,000 Appraisal) - This stunning one-of-a-kind piece was commissioned by a private jewelry collector in the 1970's. This bib style necklace is featured in the book about Henry Dunay "A Precious Life." However, this particular piece is the only one in the world that has the ebony inserts and diamonds in this style. The necklace is truly a magnificent work of art and is made of solid 18k yellow gold. It has a soft graduating design that measures from 0.50" to 1.81". Each ebony wood insert is strategically lined on both sides with vibrant VVS1-VVS2/D-F pave set diamonds which total approximately 12.00ctw. This exact style of bib necklace is on page 44 of the Dunay book in just the gold model (with no ebony inserts or diamonds). This piece will also come with the original Henry Dunay pouch and has been in a private collection for over 40 years. This is the first time it has ever been offered for auction. The piece measures 16.5" in length. Henry Dunay started his career at the age of 14 and started his own firm in 1956, initially taking on work from other manufacturers (including Harry Winston) to support himself. He also greatly admired David Webb. He quickly found success and fame after winning the De Beers Diamond International Award, which showered images of his designs around the world. He has been awarded over 50 National and International Awards over fifty years, and is a four time winner of the Diamond International award. In 2013 "Lost Love", a carved aquamarine, diamond, platinum and gold sculpture by Dunay brought a realized price of $170,500 at auction, and rock crystal quartz and yellow gold mounted presentation bowl of a boat-shaped outline fetched $68,500. The back of the piece is signed "Dunay" along with the metal content. Dunay has had his pieces on countless red carpet events on celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Denzel Washington's wife, Hillary Clinton, Adrien Brody and is a widely loved brand around the world. This piece is truly museum quality and is like nothing you will ever see again.
