Est. $1,000-$1,250 Jayne Mansfield's Personally Owned Pink Cat's Eye Sunglasses Acquired From Jayne Mansfield Estate Sale W/Original Sale Tag & Receipt - These pink cat's eye sunglasses were personally owned by iconic American film, theater, and television actress, Jayne Mansfield. Mansfield was the epitome of extravagance and decadence, known for her bigger than life personality. She was also a nightclub entertainer, singer and one of the early Playboy Playmates, and was one of the bright shining stars of the 1950s next to Marilyn Monroe. Although her career was considered short-lived, she had several box office successes, won a Theatre World Award and a Golden Globe, and remains one of the most recognizable icons of 1950s celebrity culture. The sunglasses have a baby pink frame with brown gradient lenses and read "Polaroid", "Non-Polarizing" and "France" on the inside arms. The sunglasses were acquired from the Jayne Mansfield Estate Auction by Berden Art & Auction Gallery in March, 1969, and will come with the original lot tag along with the handwritten receipt and announcement for the public sale.
