The earrings were masterfully crafted of solid 18k yellow gold and platinum, and have a richly textured brushed gold finish creating a luxurious look which is synonymous with the Dunay name. The earrings are decorated with two solid platinum wave details mounted on each piece, which are embellished with approximately 1.50ctw genuine VVS2-VS1/F-G brilliant round cut diamonds. The diamonds are set in platinum to best display their radiant fiery white color, showing excellent attention to detail. Henry Dunay started his career at the age of 14 and started his own firm in 1956, initially taking on work from other manufacturers (including Harry Winston) to support himself. He quickly found success and fame after winning the De Beers Diamond International Award, which showered images of his designs around the world. His pieces have been worn at countless red carpet events on celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Denzel Washington's wife, Hillary Clinton, and Adrien Brody. In 2013 "Lost Love", a carved aquamarine, diamond, platinum and gold sculpture by Dunay brought a realized price of $170,500 at auction, and rock crystal quartz and yellow gold mounted presentation bowl of a boat-shaped outline fetched $68,500. The earrings measure 1.25" x 1". (WEIGHT: 36.3 grams) Please note: This piece comes with a $28,000 insurance valuation report in the winning bidder's name by a graduate appraiser.
