The famed Hollywood Bowl witnessed the music of legends such as Billie Holiday, The Beatles, TheRolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors and more in its illustrious ""career"" as a venue from 1929 to 2003, prior to its major renovation. The drum was made by Tom J. Schultz, owner of TJS Custom Drums, during a time of repurposing building material for preservation sake. The drum encompasses iconic wood from days gone by coupled with modern day instrument hardware to provide a working snare ideal for recordings, stage use and/or as a monumental artifact for your rock n' roll collection. There is only one snare drum created from that seating arrangement from the Hollywood Bowl. The drum is an 8 lug stave shell snare made from Alaskan Yellow Cedar directly from the bench seat of the Bowl. The drum also contains the number ""1"" which was engraved on the back planks of each bench seat, planks which are no longer available. It measures 5"" x 14"" and has 3.2 mil triple flanged hoops, Gibraltar tube style lugs, piccolo strainer and butt plate and Aquarian American Vintage batter head."
