Est. $60,000-$75,000 Elvis Presley's King Size Bed From Hillcrest Dr. Beverly Hills Home W/COA, Photos & 1980 Auction Catalog (Museum Exibited) - This king sized bed was used by Elvis Presley at his Beverly Hills home which was located at 1174 Hillcrest Road, in the Trusdale Estates. Elvis lived at the home from 1968 to 1973 before selling the estate, along with most of it's contents, in 1973 following his divorce from Priscilla. The home and contents were purchased by Elayne Marks, who eventually held an auction with Don B. Smith at the Hollywood Palladium in 1980 where the contents of the home were sold. It is said that the Hillcrest home was Elvis' "Graceland of the West", and he was happy during his time there with Priscilla and baby Lisa Marie. This is the only bed which belonged to Elvis that is available outside of Graceland, making this an incredible find. This is truly an iconic piece of the king as the bed was Elvis' resting place through the Comeback Special, "That's The Way It Is", "Elvis On Tour" and "Aloha From Hawaii". The lot includes Elvis' mattress and box spring which sit on two divan bases, a curved wooden headboard carved with ornate scrollwork, bedding and green velvet bedspread. There is a label affixed to the mattress which reads "Made Exclusively For Elvis Presley", and the lot will also include certificates of authenticity for both the bed and the bedspread, several photos of the piece being displayed in a museum, a copy of Harold Loyd's "Elvis Presley's Graceland Gates" book which shows the bed on the back cover, a catalog from the 1980 auction and even a photo of Elvis laying in bed with baby Lisa Marie. The bed is currently located in Memphis, Tennessee and shipping will be at the expense of the buyer. GWS Auctions will gladly assist with shipping arrangements if necessary.
