Est. $40,000-$50,000 Death Proof (2007) Screen Used 1973 Ford Mustang Grande (Museum Exhibited) - This 1973 Ford Mustang Grande can be seen in the 2007 Quentin Tarantino film, "Death Proof". The vehicle was one of two made for the film, and had the bumper modified to look like a 1972 Mustang Grande. The vehicle can be seen throughout the second half of the film as Abernathy Ross, Kim Mathis and Lee Montgomery are driving through Tennessee and stop at a convenience store, where Mike watches them from his car. They later pick up their friend stuntwoman Zoe Bell (played by herself) from the airport and she tells them that she wants to test-drive a 1970 Dodge Challenger, the same type of car from the film "Vanishing Point", that is for sale nearby. This particular vehicle was used for the interior shots during the driving scenes. Many of the stunts in the film were actually performed and were not created using CGI. This car is reminiscent of Eleanor from the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" and of Uma Thurman's iconic costume from "Kill Bill", as Tarantino is known for leaving subtle references in his film. The back bumper also has a sticker which reads "Lil Pussy Wagon", a nod to the "Pussywagon" Chevy pickup in "Kill Bill", and has a "Brand X" rear license plate which is a reference to Brand X Action Specialists, the stunt company of stunt coordinator Jeffrey J. Dashnaw. It is also said that the casting of Kurt Russel in this film was a nod to the master of cult and horror, John Carpenter. This stunning vehicle is in beautiful condition, and is currently on display in a museum. Shipping will be at the expense of the buyer, and the auction house will help facilitate shipping arrangements, if necessary. The item is located in Missouri. The vehicle will come with a Minnesota title along with an application for title receipt from production designer Steve Joyner.
