Est. $50,000-$53,000 Patek Philippe Rare "Beta 21" Solid 18K Yellow Gold 43mm Cushion Shaped Watch (Ref. 3597) W/Blue Dial, Black Alligator Band & Papers - This incredibly rare, investment quality timepiece was made by celebrated watch manufacturer Patek Philippe. This 1970s watch features a unique oversized 43mm cushion-shaped solid 18k yellow gold case, and the Beta 21 movement which was created by the collaboration of over 20 Swiss watch makers (including Patek Philippe) between 1962-1969. It is said that only 6000 Beta 21 movements were ever made (put into several brands), making this a true historic must have for any watch enthusiast. The Beta 21 is an electronic caliber 13 jewel quartz movement which features a sweeping seconds hand (versus the usual ticking of quartz movements), and represents a piece of horological history. The watch features a blue sunburst dial, date display at 3 o'clock, and applied luminous gold hands and markers. The case is on a black alligator band with a solid 18k yellow gold buckle signed "PPCo." This watch has excellent investment potential, as Patek Philippe resale value is above that of all other makers, vintage or modern. Patek Phillippe watches are some of the most sought after in the world, as it is said that fewer than 1 million Patek Philippe watches have been made since 1839. The Patek production is so detailed that it takes approximately nine months to make its most basic watches, and over two years to produce some of the more complicated pieces. The watch measures 9.75" in length, and will come with the Extract From the Archives. It is in excellent vintage condition, and is working. Case #: 272XXXX, Movement #: 6XXX, Ref. #: 3597.
