Est. $125,000-$150,000 Henry Dunay 45.00ct Aquamarine, 4.00ctw VVS1-VVS2/D-E Diamond & Solid 18K Yellow Gold/Platinum One of a Kind Cityscape Brooch Featured in Henry Dunay Book (Comes W/$125,000 Appraisal) - This immaculately crafted, one of a kind piece was made by world renowned, award-winning designer Henry Dunay. The piece depicts a cityscape of the Hungarian city of Budapest, and is decorated with a massive, 45.00ct (approximate) genuine aquamarine. Henry Dunay was known to use only the finest materials in his one of a kind pieces, such as only using 18 1/2 carat gold and flawless/D diamonds, apparent in the magnificent quality of the aquamarine which displays a stunning vivid blue color. The gem quality aquamarine is set in a solid platinum backing to accentuate its gorgeous color, showing excellent attention to detail. The solid 18k yellow gold frame has a beautiful matte gold finish which gives the piece a truly elegant look, and has pierced details creating the windows of the buildings. Further, the piece is finished with approximately 4.00ctw genuine VVS1-VVS2/D-E brilliant round cut pave set diamond accents. Due to the decorative beauty of this piece, it can also be displayed as a desk standee. Dunay started his career at the age of 14 and started his own firm in 1956, initially taking on work from other manufacturers (including Harry Winston) to support himself. He quickly found success and fame after winning the De Beers Diamond International Award, which showered images of his designs around the world. He has been awarded over 50 National and International Awards over fifty years, and is a four time winner of the Diamond International award. In 2013 "Lost Love", a carved aquamarine, diamond, platinum and gold sculpture by Dunay brought a realized price of $170,500 at auction, and rock crystal quartz and yellow gold mounted presentation bowl of a boat-shaped outline fetched $68,500. This is a once in a lifetime find, and is truly a museum or archive worthy piece. The back of the piece is signed "Dunay" along with the metal content and serial number. Measurements: 3.5"W x 1.75"L. (WEIGHT: 100.2 grams) Please note: this piece will be accompanied by a $125,000 insurance valuation report in the winning bidder's name by a graduate appraiser.
