Est. $15,000-$20,000 Dustin Hoffman's "Hook" (1991) 5-Piece Costume Marked "Dustin 1" Worn as "Captain Hook" W/Provenance - This 5-piece ensemble was worn by Dustin Hoffman as he portrayed "Captain Hook" in the 1991 fantasy adventure film "Hook", Steven Spielberg's sequel to J.M. Barrie's classic Peter Pan tale. The ensemble is comprised of a deep red wool three-quarter length pirate coat richly adorned with gold brocade ribbon, tassels and oversized buttons, a similarly ornamented black ribbed cotton sleeveless undercoat along with black short pants with grommet and button closures and matching button detailing. The costume also includes gold embroidered nylon stockings and Hook's signature gold hoop earring to complete this iconic ensemble. The coat, vest and short pants have a Barbara Matera Ltd. clothing label, and the shorts are labeled with "Dustin 1" hand written on the label. This stunning and elaborate costume was designed for the character of Captain James Hook by a Spielberg favorite, Anthony Powell. The costume was previously sold at auction in 1997, and will be accompanied by a copy of the auction listing. The costume shows evident signs of production use, and has several buttons missing from the back of the jacket. Please view all provided images for an accurate reflection of condition.
