Est. $20,000-$25,000 Ming Dynasty Doucai Glazed Porcelain Jar W/Songbird & Chrysanthemum Motifs - This stunning porcelain jar is elaborately decorated in the doucai style with an ornate motif in a pleasing color palette of multi-colored enamels depicting a songbird among blossoming chrysanthemums. Chrysanthemums are associated with longevity and wealth, because the name sounds similar to the word jiu, meaning "long enduring", and infusions made from their petals are believed to have medicinal properties. The jar is finished with an unglazed base. Measurements (approximate): 29"H x 14"W.
