Est. $18,000-$22,500 Elvis Presley's Custom NBL Deerskin Vest & Pants W/Cleaning Receipt & (3) Letters of Authenticity Documenting Chain of Ownership - This is a custom made deerskin vest and pants, made for Elvis Presley by North Beach Leathers. The outfit was made by Jeanie Blackman, who was one of NBL's top designers who created unique leather wear for their Las Vegas and Hollywood stores in the early 1970s. Elvis started wearing NBL outfits in the early 70s, and continued through 1974. This outfit is made of luxuriously soft tan deerskin, and is finished with abalone buttons. This piece has incredible provenance, and will be accompanied by (3) letters of authenticity documenting the full chain of ownership of the suit. The first letter is from NBL owner Bill Morgan, which states that the piece was made by Jeanie Blackman especially for Elvis. The second letter is from Pat Goudy, whose mother worked at Cantrell's Cleaners, where the suit was dropped off by Elvis' chief of security Al Strada for cleaning. Ms. Goudy explains that Strada dropped off the suit (along with other articles) for cleaning, which was to be a rush job and was to be picked up the following day. When the items were not picked up her mother persistently tried to reach Mr. Strada and was not able to get through until much later when Elvis returned to town. She eventually spoke with Joe Esposito who told her that she could keep the items for being so persistent in trying to return them. The pieces were left to Ms. Goudy and her sisters, and Ms. Goudy received this suit and later sold it to collector Jerry Branca. The piece will also be accompanied by the original cleaning receipt from Cantrell's Cleaners. The third letter is from Branca, and states transfer of ownership from him to our client. This is an incredible piece of memorabilia from one of history's most well known entertainers, and truly belongs in a museum. Measurements (approximate): vest-28"L x 20"W, pants-40"L x 32" waist.
