Est. $20,000-$21,000 Lorenzo de' Medici the Magnificent Acrylic & Mixed Media Pop Art Portrait in Wood & Gilt Gold Frame by Prince Lorenzo de' Medici W/Letter of Authenticity - This piece was created by contemporary artist Prince Lorenzo De’ Medici, a descendent and heir to the Medici dynasty of Florence. Prince Lorenzo created this exquisite artwork as part of his Renaissance Contemporary Pop Collection. He began his Renaissance Contemporary Pop Collection in 2014 in Rome and Florence, inspired by original Medici family portraits from his Italian Palace. This mixed media on canvas cloth insert painting is made with acrylic paint, and framed in a beautiful wood and gilt gold frame. In this portrait he profusely uses a gold color to represent the "Glory and the Wealth of the Medici House", as well as the main color on their emblem. This Medici Gold has been used as a Medici Crest and Nobility Symbol. This elegant and exquisite painting is a Celebration of the Medici Heritage and Lorenzo the Magnificent as its main protagonist. The artist highlights in gold the three rings at each upper side representing the three virtues; faith, charity and hope, the centered garland, the ribbon with the motto "SEMPER" and the Three Feathers Emblem. Lorenzo de' Medici the Magnificent was an Italian statesman and de facto ruler of the Florentine Republic during the Italian Renaissance. He was a magnate, diplomat, politician and patron of scholars, artists, and poets. He is known for his contribution to the art world, sponsoring artists such as Botticelli and Michelangelo as well as Leonardo da Vinci and Galileo Galilei. Prince Lorenzo created this portrait of his ancestor with inspiration from an original 1700s engraving by Giuseppe Allegrini, who created the engraving based on a drawing by Giuseppe Zocchi. Prince Lorenzo depicts this inspiration with the signatures of both Zocchi and Allegrini at the bottom of this stunning piece. This piece was painted in Italy in 2017, and was presented at the biennale of Venice that same year. Measurements: 51" x 40". The painting will come with a letter of authenticity on Prince Lorenzo's royal letterhead, and will also include a full description of the piece.
