Est. $18,000-$19,000 Eleonora Medici Mexico Acrylic & Mixed Media Pop Art Portrait in Wood & Gilt Gold Frame by Prince Lorenzo de' Medici W/Letter of Authenticity - Contemporary artist Prince Lorenzo De’ Medici, a descendent and heir to the Medici dynasty of Florence, created this exquisite artwork as part of his Renaissance Contemporary Pop Collection, inspired by original Medici family portraits from his Italian Palace. This mixed media on canvas painting is made with acrylic paint and framed in a beautiful wood and gilt gold frame. This piece depicts Eleonora di Toledo, who was married to Cosimo I de' Medici the second Duke of Florence, and is credited with being the first modern first lady, or consort. The piece portrays Eleonora wearing an authentic Mexican dress and fine gold jewels, such as a necklace composed of an original gold Florentine Florin with Madonna of Guadalupe gold medals. This magnificent work was inspired by Eleonora’s official portrait painted by Agnolo Bronzino (1503-1572), one of the most reputed painters of her time. To honor the historical portrait Prince Lorenzo created this painting, drawing inspiration from it with similarities such as Eleonora wearing jewels that enhance her extraordinary wealth, both personal and from her husband. This includes pearls necklaces of varied sizes and shapes, gold medals, gold and pearls in the net that cover her head and shoulders, and a precise depiction of the rich garments that define the status of their portrayed character. This piece will come with a letter of authenticity from the Prince on his personal stationery, and will also come with a highly detailed full description of the piece by art curator Mariavelia Savino. The piece measures approx. 20.5” x 15” (52 x 39 cm), and is framed under protective plexiglass. Prince Lorenzo de Medici is the descendant and heir to one of the most famous family names in human history. The de' Medici Dynasty, which created the Italian Renaissance, symbolizes unparalleled historical contributions to art, politics, banking, cuisine, medicine, accounting, philanthropy, commerce, geography, agriculture, religion, textiles, and fashion. He has stated that art is his passion, and is an acclaimed international artist who uses his skills in a variety of mediums to create his modern Renaissance inspired pieces.
