The 1966 Batmobile was first created in 1965, for the live action television series "Batman", starring Adam West and Burt Ward. In 1965, the producers of the tv show were in need of a Batmobile, and they approached car customizer Dean Jeffries, who ultimately turned the project down because he felt he wouldn't have enough time to complete it, as the producers needed it completed in three weeks. They went on to approach George Barris of Barris Kustom City, who was up for the challenge. He chose to use the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car, for the bat-like qualities it already had. This vehicle was built in Canada by Don Currie, and was concieved from original molds from Bob Buttz, who worked with George Barris. The car is equipped with the bat-phone, batscope and bat-light flashers, as well as the emergency bat-turn lever and other gadgets. This amazing vehicle is currently exhibited at the Celebrity Car Museum in Branson, MO, and is titled as a 1976 Lincoln.
