This costume was worn by Swayze during the filming of the scene in the bar, while the group is celebrating after Vida wins the New York City “Drag Queen Of The Year “competition. Vita notices a picture of Julie Newmar on the wall, and decides to take it as a token for their trip. "To Wong Foo” is a film about three New York City drag queens that travel across the country towards Hollywood for a national drag queen contest. Their car breaks down, leaving them stranded in the small town of Syndersville. The title of the film refers to the autographed picture that Vida carries with them throughout their trip as a token of their journey. The film was number one at the box office in the U.S. for its first two weeks in the theater, and both Patrick Swayze and John Leguizamo were nominated for Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.
