Est. $3,000-$3,500 Titanic Prop Wood & Green Leather Effect 1st Class Dining Chair - This is a first-class chair from James Cameron's Oscar winning masterpiece, Titanic. The chair was used for the dining room scenes where the higher class guests of the ship enjoy dinner as well as for shots of people and objects in the water after the ship's sinking. The stylish green chairs, which were designed to bear a striking resemblance to the chairs found on the actual ship, are seen on screen behind and around characters like Jack and Rose (played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet). The chair is made from wood with a green leather-type seat and backing with metal rivets around the perimeter of the seat and backing. Additionally, there is a small metal plate screwed to the front of the chair's wood frame with the film's title engraved on it. The chair measures approximately 36"H x 20"W x 19"D. Titanic is a 1997 American epic romance-disaster film directed, written, co-produced and co-edited by James Cameron. The film achieved critical and commercial success, being nominated for 14 Academy Awards, and winning 11 including the awards for Best Picture and Best Director. The film had an initial worldwide gross of over $1.84 billion, making it the first film to reach the billion-dollar mark. The film is the 2nd highest grossing film of all time, only falling behind Cameron's "Avatar" in 2010.
