Est. $2,000,000-$2,500,000 Whitney Houston's Schimmel Plexiglass Custom Piano & Tufted Matching Piano Bench - This one of a kind piano was made by Schimmel exclusively for Whitney Houston. This piano was originally acquired from the Nippy, Inc (Whitney Houston's company) unpaid storage unit auction conducted by AJ Willner Auctions in New Jersey in 2007. It is said that this was Whitney's favorite piano, and she had a matching coffee table and chairs made of glass to go with it (which is offered in the next lot). This piano was featured on the TV show "Beverly Hills Pawn" that is on the REELZ channel. Yosi Dina, the pawnshop owner offered $500,000 for the piano, and our seller did not make a deal with him on the show, as he wishes to try his chances at auction. This is an iconic piece of music memorabilia that truly belongs in a museum, or in a private collection. Born on August 9, 1963 in Newark, New Jersey, Whitney Houston almost seemed destined from birth to become a singer. Her mother Cissy Houston, cousin Dionne Warwick and godmother Aretha Franklin were all legendary figures in American gospel, soul and pop music, and were great inspirations for Whitney's music. She began singing in the choir at her church, The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, as a young child and by the age of 15 was singing backing vocals professionally with her mother on Chaka Khan's 1978 hit, 'I'm Every Woman'. She went on to provide backing vocals for Lou Rawls, Jermaine Jackson and her own mother and worked briefly as a model, appearing on the cover of 'Seventeen' magazine in 1981. Her career was honored with 2 Emmy awards, 6 People's Choice awards, 6 Grammy awards and 22 American Music Awards, just to name a few. Her music will live on for generations, and she will forever be a music industry icon, and the Queen of Pop. Whitney Houston tragically passed away in 2012, and her death was followed by the then tragic passing of her only child in 2015. This is a true masterpiece, and is considered to be one of the most valuable pianos in the entire world by collectors worldwide. This piano was made exclusively for Ms. Houston by Schimmel, and this is the only piano belonging to Ms. Houston that is currently for sale in the entire world. This piece comes from the collection of "Treasure King" Richie Marcello. Larger-than-life collector Richie Marcello, also knows as the "Treasure King" scours the globe to buy and sell some of the world's most highly sought after museum-caliber treasures and rare Hollywood memorabilia many believed to be lost forever. He has been featured on REELZ in his own television show, as well as "Beverly Hills Pawn", and other television shows.
