Est. $10,000-$12,000 Elvis Presley Jar of Hair From His Cousin Harold Loyd W/Hand Written Note, Mailing Envelope, & (4) Photos - This lot is a jar of Elvis Presley's hair, and was a gift from his cousin, Harold Loyd. Loyd was Elvis' first cousin, the son of Gladys Presley's sister Rhetha. Loyd worked as the stalwart gatekeeper at Graceland for 32 years, and enjoyed working closely with fan clubs around the world, helping to organize charity and other events. This hair was mailed to our client, with a short note which reads "Hello! Here it is as I promised, Harold", which is written on the back of a "Mac's California Concept Hair Design" business card. The lot will include the original mailing envelope which is addressed in Loyd's handwriting, along with a smaller envelope (also in Loyd's handwriting) which is labeled "Hair". The lot will also include (4) photos of Harold Loyd, three of which are personally signed by Loyd with notes. This is an excellent investment piece, as Celebrity Memorabilia continues to rise in value faster and more steadily than any other asset class, due to the uniqueness and rarity of the items, and this piece comes directly from someone who was very close with the King. A lock of Elvis' hair was sold in 2002, for over $115,000.
