Est. $8,000-$12,000 John F. Kennedy Personally Owned Pair of Long Johns W/Great American Doll Company Limited Edition Artist Proof "John-John" Doll Numbered 10/500 - This is a pair of "Duofold" wool and cotton long johns, which were personally owned by former President John F. Kennedy. The long johns are made of two layer fabric, with a 100% cotton inner layer and 40% wool, 60% cotton outer layer. The long johns are size 40, and are in fair condition, with evident signs of wear. They were previously sold at Guernsey's Auction of John F. Kennedy Memorabilia in 1998, and were used to create the "John-John" doll, which accompanies this lot. The long johns were purchased by the Great American Doll Company, who created the masterpiece "John-John" dolls, which were created in the image of John Jr. standing at attention, giving a final and proud "salute" to his dead father and our fallen President. The dolls were designed by Bruno Rossellini, and are absolutely stunning. They were produced in an extremely limited edition of only 2000 regular edition dolls (sold at US $495 each) and 500 Artist Proof edition dolls (sold at US $795 each), which are each hand signed by the artist and the two founders of the company. The dolls have since sold out, and are extremely rare to find. This doll is one from the Artist Proof edition, and is numbered 10/500. The Great American Doll Company used the long johns by cutting out small pieces from the inside layer, and sewing the pieces into a patch on the inside of John-John's coat. This special doll is the first American Celebrity doll to carry with it an actual piece of personal clothing owned and worn by a President of The United States of America. The doll measures approx. 33" high, and will come sealed in the original packaging, with a brush and certificate of authenticity.
