Est. $5,500-$6,000 Geena Davis "Thelma & Louise" Movie Prop House Slippers W/COA & Wardrobe Tags - This lot is a pair of prop slippers from the 1991 American road film "Thelma & Louise", worn by Geena Davis. The film stars Geena Davis as Thelma and Susan Sarandon as Louise, with a supporting cast Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, and Brad Pitt, whose career was launched by the film. The film became a critical and commercial success, receiving six Academy Award nominations and winning one for Best Original Screenplay. The film also received a nomination for Best Director, and both Sarandon and Davis were nominated for Best Actress. The film influenced other films and artistic works, and became a landmark of feminist film. In 2016, the United States Library of Congress selected the film for preservation in the National Film Registry, finding it "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". These slippers are "Dearforms" dirty pink Terry slip-ons, with lavender lace trim, bows and buttons, size 9 1/2 to 10 1/2. They will come with wardrobe note tags still attached (labeled scene 2-10), along with a certificate of authenticity.
