Est. $60,000-$61,000 Carrera y Carrera 0.75ctw VVS1-VVS2/F-G Diamond 18K Limited Edition Collar Necklace W/21ct Blue Sapphire Cabochon (From Retired Model's Estate) - This stunning work of art was finely crafted by Carrera y Carrera, of solid 18k yellow gold. The necklace measures approx. 16" long, and is embellished with a magnificent 19mm nymph and moon design on either side of the piece. The necklace shows stunning attention to detail, as you can see the facial expressions of the nymphs, as well as the fluid movement of their hair. The necklace is decorated with approx. 0.75ctw VVS1-VVS2/F-G diamonds that are set into the center of the piece and down the length of the crescent moons. The diamonds are fiery white, and have a brilliant sparkle that looks absolutely stunning against the vibrant yellow color of the gold. The necklace is then finished with a gorgeous, near flawless 21ct (approximate) Ceylon Blue Sapphire cabochon, which finishes the piece beautifully. The necklace has a hammered-like finish, and the designer's use of both matte and polished finishes truly shows the spectacular craftsmanship that is synonymous with this fine luxury brand. This piece truly radiates sophistication and poise, and creates an aura of luxurious beauty through its graceful shape and delicate ornaments. The necklace has a graduated design, which measures approx. 9mm to 25mm at the widest point. The necklace is signed with the Carrera y Carrera hallmark, gold purity, maker's mark, and unique serial number. This was an expressly made piece which was an extremely limited edition, and is no longer in production. This piece comes from a famous model's estate, and she used it around the world while walking the runways (no provenance is provided, because she wishes to remain a private seller). Carrera y Carrera is an icon of gold craftsmanship and jewelry artisanship, and creates each piece in its workshops as if it were a small work of art. Each piece is meticulously crafted, in a series of labor intensive steps. The piece is first sketched by the designer, and is then sculpted by the hands of expert modelers, from a block of hard wax, and then the master prototype is created in silver once it has reached the optimal design. The piece is then transformed into gold using the traditional lost wax casting method, and is then finished by master jewelers who painstakingly choose the gems and set them into the piece. The final touch, and Carrera y Carrera's trademark, is the matte-gloss finish, which allows a greater appreciation of the details of these small sculptures. Carrera y Carrera has a long history of celebrity clientele, including Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Olivia Wilde, and many others. This piece is in excellent condition, and looks as though it has hardly been worn. The necklace will come housed in a felt necklace case. (WEIGHT: 140.7 grams). This piece will come with a $61,000 insurance appraisal in the winning bidder's name.
