Est. $32,000-$35,000 K. Faberge 4.5ct Demantoid Garnet Art Nouveau Solid 56 Yellow Gold Ring W/2.20ctw Genuine Mine-Cut Diamond Accents (August Wilhelm Holmstrom) - This gorgeous piece is Imperial Russian, and made of solid 56 yellow gold (Russian Pre-Revolution standard for 14K gold). This piece has an approximate 4.5ct cushion-cut demantoid garnet that was mined from the Ural Mountains. These are the rarest stones in the world as they are no longer mined, because the mines are now empty. The piece is then finished with approximately 2.20ctw SI1-SI2/H-J mine-cut diamonds. This stunning piece also has diamonds hoisted up to surround the demantoid, has delicate etched designs around the crown setting and displays a stunning Art Nouveau design. This piece was made in St. Petersburg from 1917-1928. The piece is marked "56", "KF" and "AH". The "A.H" stands for August Wilhelm Holmstrom, he was one of Faberge's beloved jewelry finish masters. He also had his own shop. Ring sz. 5.5. You will never see another piece like this by Faberge as they do not exist. GWS Auctions has had the distinct pleasure of selling one of the largest Faberge collections in the world, and the pieces in this auction are the final part of that collection.
