Est. $65,000-$72,500 Faberge 5ctw Rose-Cut Diamond, Solid 56 Rose & Green Gold Box W/Pastel Green & Pink Guilloche Enamel & Hand painted Portraits of Alexander II & Maria Alexandrovna (Comes in Fitted Box)- This stunning pre-revolution piece was made by Faberge, and is made of solid 56 pink and green gold (the Pre-Revolution Russian standard for 14K). The piece has strategic attention to detail, as has solid gold, geometric bands that line the piece and stylized floral scenes that accent each of the corners. The top of the box depicts two hand painted portraits of Alexander II and his lovely wife Maria Alexandrovna (The King & Queen of Russia). The piece also has a near flawless genuine ruby cabochon that accent the Royal Crest surrounding the portraits. The two backgrounds of the piece are finished with pale, pastel pink and green guilloche enamels that have a stunning iridescence. We have never seen a Faberge piece quite like this one, and it is truly considered a treasure, and is most certainly museum quality. The piece has the work master mark "M.P" (Michael Perchin), is marked "56" and "Faberge" in Crylic. Mr. Perchin is best known for his finishings of gold works, such as this piece. This is a magnificent find, and truly a one of a kind piece. The piece also comes in a fitted Faberge box. This is by far the nicest Michael Perchin piece that we have ever seen that has been produced by Faberge. With it being made of solid (rare color) gold, the enamel work (and selection of color use) along with the diamonds and the portraits, this is the finest one we have ever seen, by far.
