This piece was made for an important Russian Aristocrat's wife, and never worn. The jewelry of the award winning London based jeweler and trained goldsmith, Elizabeth Gage, is easily recognizable because of the richness of her bold designs in yellow gold and brightly colored enamel and her prominent use of large gemstones. Influenced by the regal jewelry of Byzantine, Medieval and Renaissance Courts as well as by Classical design, her jewelry is meticulously crafted. Her jewelry designs are often one of a kind and might incorporate coins or fossils emphasizing the importance she puts on history and nature. Her pieces also feature cultured and baroque pearls and faceted, carved or cabochon gemstones. Elizabeth Gage jewelry is admired for its unique artistry and timeless appeal. This particular piece boasts an approximate 18ct Aquamarine cabochon that has a delicate rose incised into it. The band measures a massive 28mm wide (across the top), and has scrolled rims and miligrain details along the edges.
