WEIGHT: 17 grams. Chrome Hearts was established by Richard Stark and two of his buddies, a silversmith and a belt maker. They started as a leather works business making pieces for their motorcycling friends, and were eventually discovered by some small-time directors in Los Angeles, who asked them to do costumes for some of their films. They got their big break in 1989 when they created some costumes for the B-movie _Chopper Chicks in Zombietown." One of the actors in the film knew the Sex Pistols® lead guitarist, and ended up introducing him to the Chrome Hearts designers. Over time they met many high-to-dos in the fashion realm of the LA area and their leather pieces were featured in Vogue and other publications. The brand is now ran by creative director and original founder, Richard Stark and his wife, Laurie Stark, and has expanded to reach the corners of the world, including stores in Hong Kong, Taipei, London, Paris, Honolulu, and others, including the original factory and store in Los Angeles and Malibu. There are often no signs outside the stores and the Starks dont do any advertising, they just produce high quality, unique pieces of art that are continuing to rise in popularity and price.
