Est. $5,000-$7,000 Victor Vasarely (French/Hungarian, 1906-1997) "Tennis Player" Signed Limited Edition Framed Serigraph Numbered 103/200 - This rare piece is an original serigraph by French-Hungarian artist Victor Vasarely. The piece is a brilliant composition in pinks, greens, oranges, and has a white matte. It is circa 1970's, hand-numbered in pencil 103/200 in the lower left corner, and is signed in pencil by Vasarely in the lower right corner. This is a very rare work, as these are unique plays of colors for this particular artist, as he did not use many pinks in his other works. The piece (including the frame) measures 42"L x 42"W. Victor Vasarely is a French-Hungarian artist, known as a "grandfather" and leader of the "Op Art" movement. Vasarely produced art and sculpture using optical illusion. For three decades, he developed his style of geometric abstract art, working in various materials. Vasarely's paintings and sculpture utilized geometrical shapes and colorful graphics to create illusions of spatial depth on two-dimensional surfaces. His works sell for tens of thousands of dollars.
