Est. $20,000-$25,000 Joan Miro (Spanish 1893-1983) Color Etching Gift to: Chagall Family Signed, Personalized & Numbered 38/225 in Frame - This piece is from the Chagall estate, and has a personal message written in pencil on the bottom, right hand side of the piece. This is a rare find, as this piece shows the special connection between two of the most beloved artists of the 20th Century. The piece has the following written message on it "Pou, Ida Chagall and Franz Meyer affectionately Miro". This piece was gifted to Ida Chagall, who is the only daughter of world famous artist, Marc Chagall in the 1960's. This piece has remained in the Chagall family since the 1960's, and was a treasured item of Ida Chagall's. Ida Chagall passed in 1994, and this is the only known piece, in existence that connects Joan Miro and Marc Chagall. The two artists had a very special connection, and Marc Chagall often invited Joan Miro to the Chagall Estate in New York for dinner.
