Est. $5,500-$7,000 Martiros Manoukian (Armenian, 1947-) "Twin Spirit II" Signed Framed Limited Edition Embellished Serigraph Numbered 26/395 - This piece is a limited edition serigraph by famous Armenian artist Martiros Manoukian titled "Twin Spirit II". The piece has been embellished by the artist with high relief, painted details. The piece has been hand signed and numbered 26 out of only 395! This piece is framed and ready to display. Manoukian began painting at the age of 11, and even as a child exhibited a great enthusiasm for freedom, adventure, and nature. His unusually advanced artistic ability enabled him to enter the Academy of Art in Yerevan in 1967, directly from high school, and he also traveled to and studied at academies in Moscow and Leningrad. At an unusually young age of 26, he had the prestigious honor of qualifying to become a member of the Union of Soviet Artists. His material success and outspoken defiance of Communist dogma continually brought him serious difficulties. In 1987 he was finally able to emigrate to the U.S. where he is able to freely express his emotions and dreams. This piece (including the frame) measures 47" x 34".
