Est. $15,000-$1,000,000 Empire Piece - Large Wood-Mounted Blue & White Porcelain Table Screen W/Dragons Chasing Flaming Pearl Designs (Repaired Due to War) - This piece is a large, wood-mounted porcelain table screen that depicts a scene of two dragons chasing after the flaming pearl. The flaming pearl is associated with spiritual energy, wisdom, prosperity, power, or immortality. The dragons have five claws, which suggests that the piece was made for an emperor or someone of nobility. The ornate, wooden base is finished with cinnabar lacquer and heavy gold gilt details that finish the piece nicely. The base is carved with dragons on the bottom and phoenixes at the top, which suggests that this piece was made for the emperor's household. This piece has been in the Emperor's collection for over three generations and was damaged during one of the wars in Vietnam. Measures: 36"H x 24"W x 14"D.
